Johnny Rivers Masters New Tracks at Bernie Grundman?s ?Secret Agent Man? Releases Ultimate Anthology (August 23, 2006)

 Legendary solo superstar Johnny Rivers, known for his rousing vocals and soulful guitar leads, recently mastered new tracks at Bernie Grundman Mastering for ?Secret Agent Man: The Ultimate Johnny Rivers Anthology 1964 ? 2006.?  Rivers cut new versions of the Muddy Waters classic, ?Rollin? Stone,? and Chuck Berry?s ?Let It Rock? at guitarist/producer Doug Hamblin?s LA studio, The Dugout.  The new tracks are included with many of Rivers? hits, spanning four decades.

Johnny Rivers vaulted to worldwide fame during the height of Beatlemania, when he released a series of albums recorded at the world-famous Whisky A Go-Go, all featuring hard-charging versions of rock 'n' roll standards. In the late '60s, he changed direction with the self-penned #1 hit, "Poor Side Of Town," a soulful ballad that he soon followed up with another hit in a similar vein, "Summer Rain." In the '70s he returned to his roots and over the next 30 years released album after album of vital rock 'n' roll. ?Secret Agent Man," the definitive collection from this legendary artist, slated for September release, is a joint project between River's  Soul City label and the Shout! Factory label.
