STAMFORD, Conn.--May
17, 2000--Multiple post-production projects have been booked by WAVE
Entertainment for Group W
Network
Services' digital editing suites here, including shows for ESPN and
ESPN International.
WAVE is currently in post-production with two shows for ESPN International
(ESPN This Week, a half-hour program that promotes and highlights the
upcoming programming schedule for ESPN's Latin American, Brazilian and
Pacific Rim networks; and XSTYLE, an hour-and-a-half weekly show featuring
various x-genre competitions and lifestyle elements). Both programs
are produced using three different host languages: Australian for the
Pacific Rim, Spanish for Latin America and Portuguese for a Brazilian
audience. WAVE also is producing nineteen hours of original extreme
sports event programming for ESPN with two series: B3 (Bikes, Blades
and Boards), and Xtrials. Upcoming projects include TOPSPIN, a series
of five tennis shows airing on CBS this summer.
According to WAVE, GWNS was selected for the editing operations based
on a long-standing working relationship, and WAVE's confidence in GWNS'
technical staff and facilities. "Group W Network Services provides
us with an efficient infrastructure and reliable services," said
Warren Pick, president of WAVE Entertainment. "The GWNS post-production
team has consistently met our scheduling and technical needs, and their
technical capabilities can support our new media ventures in digital
video and streaming."
WAVE is currently operating two shifts per day out of GWNS Edit-1, a
Digital Betacam online editing suite featuring a Sony 9100 editing system
and digital switcher, Graham Patten 820 series audio console, Accom
DDR, Lietch still store and Chyron MAX character generator. The suite
has been enhanced to allow for program segments to be streamed to clients
for approval, speeding up the approval process significantly.
