(May 18, 2000) Belief, a leading broadcast design and production studio,
announces collaboration with eleven othe
r
motion graphics design studios to create "Untitled: Darkness" - a progressive
design project focused on the theme of "darkness." In April, Belief
sent out a Super-8 camera and a brief list of guidelines to five selected
design firms who then selected another six companies to participate.
The film was then returned to Belief for processing and redistributed
to different design companies for compositing. Seven sound designers
and composers then added music mixes, scored content and composed original
tracks for this endeavor.
The final version of "Untitled: Darkness" was sequenced together by
Belief and will screen at this yearıs PROMAX & BDA convention and awards
in New Orleans from June 14 - 17, 2000 in Booth 460 (The White Room
Experience, next to the Belief DJ lounge). Video copies of "Untitled:
Darkness" will also be available at the PROMAX & BDA Resource Center
with proceeds going to the PROMAX & BDA Foundation to establish a scholarship
fund for design students.
"We wanted to shake up this years awards and inspire a series of
special projects for future BDA get-togethers. We started with the idea
of creating a Slamdanceı styled showcase event and have arrived at
an experimental project which was enthusiastically endorsed by PROMAX
& BDA. This project will inaugurate their student scholarship program,"
said Eric Saks, Project Producer,
"Untitled: Darkness" was sanctioned and sponsored by PROMAX & BDA. Showcase
sponsors include Media 100, Belief, Silicon Graphics, Directorıs Site
DVD Authoring and others.
