Effanel Music Mixes Fourth Grammys Telecast with AMS Neve Capricorn Digital Mixing Console

New York, New York, March 30, 2000 - For the fourth year in a row premiere mobile recording specialist, Effanel Music, has recorded and mixed the live Grammy Awards' telecast, utilizing its 128-input Capricorn digital mixing console in the company's mobile recording studio.

"In our four years of using the Capricorn, we've recorded a total of 62 live performances on the Grammys, with zero failures and 100 percent productivity,"
said Effanel Music Owner Randy Ezratty. "When we first started mixing the Grammies with this console, everyone was awed by the fidelity and power of the Capricorn, but were skeptical of using a digital console on a live show of this magnitude."

Ezratty attributes the Capricorn's fully automated and instantly resettable operations with much of the success of the live Grammy recordings. "The Capricorn has always offered us the ability to fine tune our mixes from rehearsal recordings up to the actual show, and execute in seconds a highly nuanced, preset mix."

Effanel Music recently purchased the company's second Capricorn digital mixing console for in-studio use. The 72-fader, 256-path Capricorn will allow Effanel to mix two projects simultaneously and continue mixes of live events recorded initially on Effanel's remote Capricorn. The board is housed in an 800-square foot tracking/mixing/project space, designed to accommodate surround mixes.

Effanel has also mixed the Dave Mathews Band "Listener Supported" DVD and the "Divas '99" DVD, which were both originally mixed on the Capricorn in stereo, then mixed in surround on Effanel's in-studio Capricorn. The broadcast remix of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony on VH-1 and a single remix for rock band "Our Lady Peace" have also been completed on the new Capricorn in Effanel's studio.

AMS Neve was honored with a Technical Grammy for pioneering a new level of recording quality and ease of operation, taking digital recording to new heights at this year's Grammy Awards.
