Disney Executive Appointed to the Women in Film & Television -- Florida Board of Directors

 

 

 

 

LOS ANGELES--(March 6, 2000)--Shirley Decker, development director for Disney i.d.e.a.s., a division of Disney Production Services, has been named to the 2000 Board of Directors of Women in Film & Television -- Florida.

An affiliated chapter of Women in Film, this nonprofit organization is committed to recognize, develop and actively promote the unique vision of women in the field of communications.

"This is a wonderful organization, and I am honored to be a part of it," Decker said of her new post. "I am very excited to work with such a talented group of people, and I am looking forward to serving the Florida community."

For the last nine years, Decker has played several key roles for Disney, currently as the development director of the Florida-based Disney i.d.e.a.s. (imagery, design, entertainment, art and storytelling), the well-known hub of creative content and post-production at the Disney-MGM Studios. Decker is responsible for integrating sales development services for production, post-production, stages and production rentals at Disney i.d.e.a.s.

Women in Film is a group of men and women representing various facets of the film and television industry, with more than 10,000 members worldwide. The organization was created to advance the fair employment, depiction and position of women within the entertainment industry.

Disney Production Services operates the production facilities at the Disney-MGM Studios near Orlando, Fla. In addition to sound stages and a unique back lot, it also encompasses Disney i.d.e.a.s. This includes full creation of script to screen product as well as on- and offline editing suites, graphics and animation design, sound mixing and sound design.
