Softimage Congratulates Imagina 2000 Prize Winners

 

 

 

 

All three winners of Top Special Effects Awards are Softimage Users

Montreal, Quebec, Canada (February 22nd 2000) -- Softimage Co., a subsidiary of Avid Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVID), announced that its computer-based video and special effects solutions have been used in many of the films and projects awarded prizes at this year’s Imagina 2000 which took place in Monaco and Paris earlier this month. Known as the ‘Pixel INA Awards’, these prizes have become an industry touchstone in the computer graphics and special effects world.

Prix Pixel-INA Videoclips: (Prize awarded to music-based clips incorporating computer graphics or special effects sequences)

  • Second Prize : Bjork "All is full of love" *, Glassworks, UK
  • Third Prize : Chemical Brothers "Let for ever be", Buf Compagnie, France

Prix Pixel-INA Publicite: (prize awarded to commercials made using computer graphics techniques )

  • First Prize: Alaris "Martiens", Groupe Daiquiri/Spainbox, Spain
  • Second Prize : Lewis "Invisible Man", Digital Domain, USA

Prix Pixel-INA Ecoles & Universités: (prize awarded for work carried out by students)

  • ThirdPrize : "Headless", Filmakademie Baden Wurttemberg, Germany

Prix 3e Dimension de la SCAM: (awarded to a Francophone computer graphics artist for a highly personal creation)

  • First Prize: "Carcasses et Crustacés", Alda Studion, Suisse

Prix Pixel-INA RECHERCHE: (works concerned with simulation, exploration and visualisation of scientific or architectural phenomena)

  • "Invisible Ocean", Ex Machina, France

Concours FNAC/IMAGINA et L’Amour en L’An 2000: (Prizes are awarded to six artists under 35 years of age, having produced an animated or still production on the theme of love)
