"GIMMEL," The Fancy Feast Cat Joins American Humane Association for Live/Faux Demostration at Locations 2000

Los Angeles Convention Center -- The American Humane Association (AHA), the agency responsible for the protection of animals used in film, television and commercial productions, will be joined at their Locations 2000 booth (#604) by "Gimmel," familiar to millions as the finicky Fancy Feast Cat along with his 'stunt double,' an exact animal-tronic replica.

According to Gini Barrett, Director, Film & TV Unit, American Humane Association, "Nothing can replace the true emotions and interaction of live animals on screen, but new techniques make today's films more exciting and animal actors safer. With the availability of 'animal-tronics' and digital technology, today's filmmakers have a number of safe choices when dangerous action is required. In fact, more animals are working in films than ever, because a broader range of stories can be told, as "Babe" and "Stuart Little" illustrate. AHA assures the concerned audiences that these scenes were accomplished without risk to the live animal."
