Pinnacle Systems' Hollywood FX Copper Provides Library of 100 3D Transitions

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA., February 16, 2000 -- Pinnacle Systems Inc., (Nasdaq: PCLE) announced that it will be bundling Hollywood FX Copper effects software with the company's popular DV500, at no extra cost.

DV500, Pinnacle Systems' real time DV based editing system features both analog and digital inputs, and comes bundled with Adobe Premiere 5.1 RT, Impression CD & DVD authoring applications as well as Hollywood FX Copper. Hollywood FX Copper provides 100 software-based accelerated 3D effects and transitions for popular non-linear video editors. The software package includes advanced plug-in technology that automatically detects scene changes by marking the in- and out-points and scaling the transitions in the process.

The DV500 is a fully-featured real-time editing system. It features inputs and outputs for both analog (SVHS, composite) and digital (DV/1394/FireWire) video equipment and uses a dual-stream hardware DV CODEC, providing real-time special effects and transitions. The DV CODEC maintains a 100% digital communication between the digital video equipment and the DV500, as well as providing extremely high quality encoding for analog video.
