Cycore Announces Discreet To Provide Support for Cult3D Marketing Efforts

SAN MATEO, CA --(April 12, 2000)--Cycore, a leader in 3D software for e-business, and Discreet, a division of Autodesk, a world leader in software for 3D visual effects, announced a cooperative marketing relationship to bring 3D interactive product visualization to the Web. As part of the relationship, Discreet will assist Cycore in marketing Cult3D to its Discreet 3D Studio Max customers with the intent of enabling 3D content creators and Web designers to develop engaging content that increases Web site stickiness and online sales.

"Cycore and Discreet share a vision to bring 3D product visualization to mainstream business communication,"
said Godfrey Sullivan, executive vice president and general manager of Discreet. "Through relationships with companies such as Palm, Nokia and Timebeat.com, Cycore has proven it delivers sophisticated solutions for online product demonstrations and increased shop-to-buy ratios on the Web."

With more than 120,000 3D Studio MAX customers, Discreet supports the world's largest community of professional 3D content creators. As a result of this relationship, 3D Studio Max users will gain greater access to the free Cult3D Designer and the ability to put interactive 3D models on the Web. Discreet will provide Cult3D product mailings to 3D Studio MAX users and feature Cult3D on its Web site. Discreet will also provide Cycore access to its user groups and events. Cycore will showcase 3D Studio MAX on its Web site, trade shows, in user groups and at other events.

"A key to successful 3D implementation in e-commerce settings is getting powerful, easy-to-use tools into the hands of developers and modelers,"
said Bengt Starke, chief executive officer for Cycore. "Discreet is the leader in 3D animation and has a large global user base that would benefit from access to Cycore technology."

Cycore Cult3D software, in active use today by many of the world's leading brands in consumer electronics, transportation and e-business, provides low-bandwidth 3D images that can be viewed by virtually anyone with a computer and without special hardware for viewing or manipulation. Cycore has recently introduced Cult3D(R) 5.0, which delivers the ability to insert 3D graphics into any Microsoft Office(R) or Adobe(R) Acrobat(R) (PDF) document. 3D Studio MAX artists can export their models to Cult3D software to create interactive 3D Web content.
