RexEdit 2.8
for RT provides real time chroma key, color-replacement and Old Movie
video filters, advanced image and audio import features, keyframable
picture-in-picture effects, and DirectX audio plug-in support and much
more.
SAN
JOSE, CA (April 17, 2000) -- At the NAB convention in Las Vegas April
10-13, Canopus Corporation announced Rex Edit 2.8 for RT. Rex Edit 2.8
for RT, an update to the company's powerful video and audio capture
and editing software, delivers a bounty of real time capabilities to
the company's feature-rich, real time DV NLE solutions, DVRexRT, DVRex
R3 (a turnkey system) and DVRex M3 (a mobile system). New features in
Rex Edit 2.8 include real time chroma key, color-replacement, and Old
Movie video filters; advanced image and audio import features, including
the ability to import TIFF and TARGA files with alpha channel; cool
keyframable picture-in-picture transitions; media importer audio filter;
and DirectX audio plug-in support.
Canopus specifically designed its line of real time DV NLEs so that
additional capabilities can be easily added through software upgrades.
This assures Canopus' customers that their systems are kept current
and not rendered obsolete. In addition, the RT line of products offers
scalable performance -- the faster the CPU, the more real time editing
capabilities available. As users update their systems to faster CPUs,
DVRexRT moves with them and delivers more real time features.
These new features enhance productivity through real time processing
and give video professionals even more options for customizing their
video productions. The new chroma key filter is the industry standard
technique for replacing keyed background with video or graphics. The
Chrominance filter lets users replace color ranges with other colors
or video filters. To make video productions look as if they have been
shot in film, Canopus is including Old Movie filters.
"With the new features in Rex Edit 2.8, DVRexRT really shows what
is possible using today's fast CPUs," said Hiro Yamada, president
of Canopus Corporation.
Titles have also been enhanced allowing users to import TIFF and TARGA
images with alpha channel. Title settings such as edge, shadow and motion
can also be applied to the image. To easily set the video levels, Rex
Edit 2.8 allows for Waveform and Vectorscope monitoring from within
the Rex Edit timeline and color correction filter setting.

Rex Edit 2.8 for RT is included free with the purchase of DVRexRT, DVRex
