Wiggle it, just a little bit

Want to take this a step further and get 3D Invigerator text to wiggle? Here’s how we do it.

I won’t go into detail on how to create an object using the Zaxwerks Invigorator plug-in, that is best saved for a different time. However, what I will tell you is that you need to dismantle the incoming groups as you import the text element. This allows each of the letters to become its own object.[an error occurred while processing this directive]

The other thing you need to do is assign each letter (an object in Invigorator) to it’s own set. Unfortunately, you only have nine sets in the free version of Invigorator, so you are limited in the number of letters you can animate individually.

When you have the positioned the 3D text properly, you can now apply the wiggle expression to each of the sets. The only gotcha here is each set allows you to animate the X, Y, and Z independently. This means you are going to have to apply the wiggle expression to each of the properties in each of the sets. Copying and pasting the expression will speed the process.

When you are done, I’m sure you will agree that the results are worth it.

Wiggling 3D elements created entirely in Adobe After Effects.

Next time we’ll create a unique animated background to go along with our wiggling text.
