SANTA CLARA, CA --(Feb. 5, 2001)-- NVIDIA Corporation announced that Hewlett-Packard, as part of the HP Leadership Graphics Program, now offers the NVIDIA Quadro2 Pro graphics solution with the HP Visualize Personal Workstation family. By enabling extremely realistic, real-time visualizations and incorporating a host of optimizations for leading digital content creation (DCC) and computer aided design (CAD) software applications, the Quadro2 Pro provides the ultimate balance between price and performance in a workstation graphics solution.

Configuration information for the HP Visualize p and x-class workstations can be found on the web at http://www.hp.com/workstations/

"This announcement marks yet another milestone, enabled by our partnership with HP, in the advancement of graphics for the professional user," stated Jeff Fisher, executive vice president of worldwide sales. "The affordable performance and quality of their personal workstations combined with the graphics capabilities of the NVIDIA solution produces a truly world-class design platform."

The HP Visualize Personal Workstation family incorporates the latest and most powerful Intel Pentium processors, plus the industry's most competitively priced combination of high-performance RAM, disk, I/O, and interoperability tools. The p-class workstations support one or two Intel Pentium III processors with a memory capacity of 2GB. Single or dual processors are available on the x-class Visualize Personal Workstation, with maximum memory configurations of up to 4GB. Through the HP Leadership Graphics Program both systems support a very wide range of graphics accelerators, including the NVIDIA Quadro2 MXR as well as the Quadro2 Pro.

"Combined with OpenGL ICD and software extensions like ELSA POWERdraft, ELSA MAXtreme, and NVIDIA QuadroView, the Quadro2 Pro on the HP Visualization workstation provides a commanding 3D solution," commented Jeff Wood, product marketing manager for Hewlett-Packard's personal workstation line. "Power users with mid-range applications in CAD/CAM, DCC, GIS, solids modeling, or visual data analysis will choose this system for its economy and visual excitement."

The NVIDIA Quadro2 Pro solution delivers remarkable realism and image clarity from features such as: AGP 2X/4X support; 64MB DDR, 1920 x 1200 resolution in 24-bit double buffered mode with a 24-bit Z-buffer; stencil and overlay planes; alpha planes and hardware texturing. The Quadro2 Pro's 1.0G pixels per second rendering power and 31M triangles per second geometry processing power make it the optimal choice for graphics-intensive applications such as 3D Studio Max (Discreet), SolidWorks 2000 (SolidWorks), Catia (Dassault), Maya (Alias|Wavefront), Pro/Engineer (PTC), SoftIMAGE|3D and SoftIMAGE|XSI (SoftIMAGE), and SolidEdge (UG).
