Calif.-(Feb. 07, 2001 ) Medea has lowered the prices of its VideoRaid
SCSI and RT disk arrays, as well as its SCSI AudioRaid drives and VideoRack
systems.
VideoRaid
SCSI arrays offer 20 and 40 MB per second sustained data transfer rates
and storage capacities up to 160 GB. VideoRaid RT sustains a data transfer
rate of 65 MB per second and is available in capacities up to 450 GB.
VideoRack RTX disk arrays offer sustained data transfer rates up to
135 MB per second and storage capacities to 600 GB per rack. AudioRaid
and AudioRack SCSI support up to 128 tracks of 24-bit/96 kHz audio.
The price reductions on the drive are as much as 18 percent. List price
reductions range from $100 off the 60 GB VideoRaid SCSI to $1,700 off
the eight-drive, 480 GB VideoRack RTX, according to a Medea press release.
The VideoRaid SCSI arrays are now available for $999 for the 60 GB two-drive
system; $1,549 for the four-drive 120 GB system; and $1,799 for the
four-drive 160 GB system.
